Enrollment Agreement & Liability Waiver

Tuition for the Program is $20 per student per week, charged as a single upfront payment for the full semester at the time of enrollment. The total amount due is calculated by multiplying the weekly rate by the number of weeks in the enrolled semester. Enrollment is not complete, and a Student's spot is not reserved, until full payment is received. Payment is processed securely through Tempo's online enrollment system.

We want you to feel confident enrolling. Our refund policy is as follows:

(a) Before the semester begins: You may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund of tuition paid.

(b) Through the end of the second week of the semester: You may withdraw your Student and receive a prorated refund for the remaining unattended weeks of the semester.

(c) After the second week of the semester:Tuition is non-refundable, as your Student's spot has been reserved and staffing and materials have been committed for the full semester.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing (including by email) to Tempo. Prorated refunds are calculated based on the number of full weeks remaining in the semester at the time the written request is received.

If Tempo cancels a scheduled session (for reasons other than school-directed closures), we will provide either a make-up session or an account credit for the missed session. Tempo is not responsible for sessions canceled due to school closures, weather, or other events outside our control, though we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule when possible. No refunds or credits are provided for sessions a Student misses due to absence.

Procedures for student drop-off, supervision, and release at the end of each session vary by school and will follow the host school's standard dismissal, aftercare, or pick-up procedures. Parents are responsible for understanding and following the specific release procedure communicated for their Student's school location and for ensuring their Student is picked up promptly at the conclusion of each session.

We strive to create a positive, focused, and respectful learning environment for every Student. By enrolling, you agree that your Student will treat instructors and fellow students with respect and follow reasonable behavioral expectations. Tempo reserves the right to remove a Student from the Program for behavior that is disruptive, unsafe, or harmful to others, after reasonable efforts to address the behavior. No refund will be issued for a Student removed for behavioral reasons after the second week of the semester.

You represent that your Student is physically able to participate in the Program. You agree to inform Tempo of any allergies, medical conditions, or special needs relevant to your Student's participation (the enrollment form provides a field for this). In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize Tempo to seek appropriate emergency medical care for your Student, and you agree to be responsible for any resulting medical costs. Tempo does not provide medical care and does not administer medication.

You understand that participation in the Program, like any group activity, carries some inherent risk. To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, you agree that Tempo Chess Academy LLC, its owners, instructors, and agents shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage to your Student or property arising out of participation in the Program, except to the extent caused by Tempo's gross negligence or willful misconduct. You release and hold harmless Tempo Chess Academy LLC from any such claims to the extent permitted by law. This release does not apply to the host school, which is not a party to this Agreement.

From time to time, Tempo may photograph or record Program sessions for use in marketing materials, including our website and social media. Your consent is entirely optional and is not a condition of enrollment. You indicate your choice using the optional photo/video consent checkbox during enrollment. If you check it, you grant Tempo Chess Academy permission to use photographs and video of your Student in its marketing and promotional materials, without compensation. If you leave it unchecked, Tempo will not use images of your Student for marketing purposes. You may change your preference at any time by contacting us.

By enrolling, you consent to receive Program-related communications from Tempo, including enrollment confirmations, schedule updates, progress reports, and re-enrollment reminders, at the email and phone number provided. Tempo respects your privacy and will use your and your Student's personal information solely to operate the Program. We will not sell or share your information with third parties except as necessary to run the Program or as required by law.

By checking the acceptance box and submitting payment through Tempo's online enrollment system, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement, and that you are the parent or legal guardian with authority to enroll the Student.
