Tempo Chess Academy collects only the information needed to run a safe, well-organized chess program. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you enroll a student or contact us, we collect the information you provide: parent name, email, and phone number; student name and grade; emergency contact details; and any allergy, medical, or special-needs notes you choose to share. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.

How we use it

We use this information solely to operate the program: processing enrollment, keeping your student safe in class, sending program communications (confirmations, schedule updates, progress reports, and re-enrollment reminders), and responding to your inquiries. If you granted photo/video consent at enrollment, we may use images of your student in our marketing materials; you can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us.

What we never do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers needed to run the program (payment processing, email delivery, and secure data hosting) or where required by law.

How it is protected

Enrollment and student records are stored in a secured database with access restricted to Tempo Chess Academy. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor.

Your choices

You may request a copy of the information we hold about you or your student, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records we must keep for payment and legal purposes) by emailing Drew@tempochessacademy.com. You can also change your photo/video consent preference at any time.

Children

Our website and enrollment system are designed for parents and guardians. We collect student information only from the enrolling parent or guardian — never directly from children.
